Need to Know Acronyms for 2026: ICHRA, DPC, and AI
Firstly, a big thanks to everyone who attended our most recent webinar, The Hottest Acronyms for 2026: ICHRA, DPC, and AI. We really enjoyed the chance to co-host with our sister companies, Ameriflex and Acressa, to bring all of you important information about these must-know concepts. Here’s a high-level overview of the basics.
What You Need to Know About ICHRA
ICHRA stands for Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement. It was created by an executive order in 2018. In 2019 it started becoming more popular and interest has been growing ever since. ICHRAs are very effective for underserved populations that are often priced out of traditional group health plans. But it’s effective in all types of industries and locations. While the number of providers vary state by state, in recent years the rising interest in ICHRAs are bringing more providers on board to this kind of program.
What You Need to Know About DPC
DPC stands for Direct Primary Care. DPC has been around longer than ICHRAs (about 20 years). It gained attention in 2010 with the creation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Similar to ICHRAs you can find a DPC provider in every state, but the number of providers available in each state does vary. DPC covers preventative care and regular office visits. But it can also cover a variety of other services like:
- Lab work
- In-house imaging
- Getting a prescription
- Nutritional guidance
- Psychological wellness
- And more
As long as the providing partner offers the service, the account holder can access it under their DPC plan.
What You Need to Know about AI
AI stands for artificial intelligence. The big advantage of AI is that it can take vast amounts of data and condense it in a useful and easy to understand way. AI also streamlines repetitive, mundane tasks, freeing your staff to use their human creativity and ingenuity on other things. A platform that uses AI like Workforce Go can help your team make data-driven decisions faster, saving time and money. In addition, you can use AI as a brainstorming tool to help prod your mind and make important connections you may have otherwise missed.
