ACA Compliance Update

On Thursday nov 29th, 2018, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) issued Notice 2018-94 to:

  • Extend the due date for furnishing 2018 forms 1095-C and 1095-B from Jan 31, 2019 to March 4, 2019 and
  • Extend good-faith transition relief from penalties.

Notice 2018-94 does not extend the due date for filing forms with the IRS for 2018. The ACA Reporting due date for filing with the IRS remains as Feb. 28, 2019 (April 1, 2019, if filing electronically). Penalties for late filing or for intentional disregard are still in force.

As a result of this update, many ACA filers including payroll vendors and stand-alone ACA vendors may have pushed back their final due date for your review. Please check with your vendor, and let me know as soon as you find out those dates.
